The 2010 ACTCOSS Conference was held on 4 - 5 November 2010 at K Block, CIT, Reid. The conference explored a variety of themes including Climate Change, Indigenous Development, Housing and Homelessness, Corrections, and Community Sector Viability.

Workshop: Measuring Disadvantage and Outcomes Based Reporting
Researchers from AIHW and NATSEM shared their methodology and findings in some of their recent work in measuring disadvantage. Workshop: Inclusion in the Workplace
This panel discussion focused on the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. Workshop: Queer in the Community
Morning session - AIDS Action Council: This workshop explored sexuality and gender diversity and the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals accessing community services. Participants developed practical strategies to deal with homophobia and heterosexism and feel comfortable delivering services to sexuality and gender diverse communities.Afternoon session: A Gender Agenda: Diversity in Sex and Gender Identities (Trans* 101). Sex and Gender Diverse communities are rapidly emerging as a new focus for law reform and health promotion strategies. This session provided an introduction to Trans* and Intersex issues, including simple practical ideas about how your organisation can become more Trans* friendly.

Workshop: Reconciliation – The Role of Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs)
The workshop on Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) was an interactive session that included information and group activities. Reconciliation Australia staff introduced the RAP program which provided a framework to help organisations turn good intentions towards reconciliation and closing the gap into action. Workshop: Working in the Sector – Being an Employer of Choice
Anthony Fogarty presented information about the Fair Work Ombudsman's office and the legal obligations of employers. Emily Mayo shared from a Union perspective on being an employer of choice and the importance of the current Pay Equity Case. Elida Meadows discussed a recent TASCOSS report "What’s culture got to do with it?", an overview of organisational culture in relation to workforce development in the community sector.
