Community Sector Leadership Training
The Community Sector Viability Working Group is pleased to be working with
Yellow Edge to offer professional leadership training to community sector directors and executives.
This course is designed to assist in the strengthening of key leadership capabilities essential to community sector leaders. It will be practical, interactive, experiential and an opportunity to network with fellow community sector leaders.
The course will include a two day leadership residential, self awareness development using the Genos Emotional Intelligence tool, individual coaching and quarterly forums.

Building Better Boards: the ACTCOSS Governance Workshop Program
ACTCOSS Governance workshops are designed to meet the needs of Board Members of not-for-profit organisations in the ACT. The workshops are designed to be interactive with participants contributing their own experiences and sharing knowledge as well as a networking opportunity for all participants.
Board Basics
This workshop provides an overview of a range of governance topics for anyone who would like an introduction to the roles, responsibilities and obligations of Board Members. It is an opportunity to ask questions and discuss common problems experienced by new board members.
The workshop will provide an overview of topics including legal and financial responsibilities of board members, the relationship between governance and management and core documents.

HCCDS Seminar: Industrial Relations Reforms and the Community Sector
This workshop will provide information to community organisations about numerous recent Industrial Relations Changes affecting the Community Sector. Representatives from Unions ACT, ACTCOSS, and the Long Service Leave Authority will present information and answer questions about topics including National Employment Standards, an overview of the Modern Award, an overview of the MEA, Fair Work Australia, and Portable Long Service Leave.
The workshop will be targeted at employers in Home and Community Care and Disability Services which provide support and care to people in a range of settings, including the service user’s home.

Raising the Standard Training
A practical workshop to assist you to implement quality improvement in your organisation
Many organisations have a requirement to use Raising the Standard as part of service funding agreements. This workshop is for people who want to learn about the service standards developed for ACT community organisations which meet ACT Government funding requirements, the self-assessment process and tools, how to use the standards in a quality improvement process, and how to write a quality improvement workplan.
