This August, ACT community service organisations will be sent an email from the University of NSW’s Social Policy and Research Centre asking them to complete a survey about their organisation, or business.
This survey will be sent to all organisations in the ACT that provide community services as their major function. Some of them are not-for-profit organisations and some are for-profit businesses.
ACTCOSS has commissioned the survey to collect information directly from providers to inform an in-depth profile of the sector. The need to develop such a profile was identified by the sector during consultations to develop the ACT Community Services Industry Strategy. The survey will help us to better understand:
- the size of the community sector
- its contribution to the ACT economy
- how it is governed and funded
- its workforce and related issues
- its infrastructure needs, and
- its relationship with government.
There are also questions about our capacity to meet client need.
This survey is your chance to highlight concerns and note what has worked as well.
We encourage you to complete the survey, particularly if your organisation works with and/or receives funding from a government agency. The more responses we get, the more we can learn about our sector. This will help to build on the Community Services Industry Strategy and inform a targeted action plan to support the sector.
Organisations/businesses that complete the survey will be eligible to enter a draw for an iPad Air 2 (16GB + 3g).
Who should complete the survey?
The survey has been designed to be completed by the organisation’s senior staff (eg CEO, senior managers, etc). It is designed to be completed once by each organisation.
How will the information be used?
The responses from the survey will be aggregated and de-identified to protect the privacy of respondents and their organisations. All information provided will be confidential. The results of the survey will inform further industry planning work being supported by ACTCOSS.
Where can I get more information?
If you would like more information on the survey, contact Geoff Buchanan on 02 6202 7222 or [email protected]
