Hands Across Canberra provides much-needed grant to help fund improved learning and development resources for community workers and board members
We’re thrilled to have received a grant of $20,000 from Hands Across Canberra. This grant will allow us to contribute to delivery of priorities for capability development identified in the ACT Community Services Industry Strategy. The grant will fund development and testing of an e-learning platform that has material relevant to community workers and organisations. It will also fund development of a resource for people who join community organisation governing bodies, providing succinct, relevant information that will support them to fulfil their strategic governance roles.
Hands Across Canberra works with around 140 Canberra charities, including the ACT Council of Social Service. They consulted widely before deciding on priorities for allocating grants in 2017. We’re excited and grateful to have been selected from the large number of exceptional grant applications they received this year.
Hands Across Canberra encourages philanthropy and helps to keep the wealth created locally within the Canberra community. This grant to us demonstrates their work in action and we’re looking forward making our project a reality with their help.
