Peak bodies offer a strong voice and important functions in policy development, representation to decision makers, and capacity building to enable better functioning of community organisations.  

ACTCOSS has developed a free introductory training session regarding community sector advocacy in the ACT.

This initial version of the training will cover:

1) The role of peaks & guiding documents

2) The ACT Government budget cycle

3) Good practice around written advocacy; and

4) Finding information to support your advocacy goals.   

This training will build understanding of the role of peak bodies in the broader community sector and empower and equip our sector colleagues to engage with systemic advocacy in the ACT.   

We encourage you to come along or nominate colleagues in your teams to join this free training. Places are limited, please REGISTER by 23 November.
