Event date:
22 November 2019
Event time:
1/6 Gritten St, Weston ACT 2611

Facilitator: Richie Allan (Ngunnawal Lore Keeper)

This is a new training venture which was very popular when we first offered it in May 2019.

Richie Allan, Ngunnawal Lore Keeper, will provide a Cultural Awareness on Country Tour to give participants some hands-on experience while providing valuable local understanding and appreciation of the Ngunnawal land on which we all live and work on.

To understand cultural awareness is to understand the history of the Aboriginal cultures.

This cultural awareness program will give you:

  • Aboriginal history

  • Spirituality

  • Ngunnawal songlines

  • Ngunnawal Dreaming stories

  • Cultural connection

  • Cultural protocols

  • Cultural diversity

  • Cultural relationship building.

You will visit the Ghubar dhaara Ochre Pit, the Ngunnawal Songline, Mulligans Flat, a Stone Tool Site and the Scar Tree sites.

Catering: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided.

*No prerequisites needed

NB: Participants must attend the full day, and arrive at 9am sharp to depart at 9.30am.

EOIs: You can also register expressions of interest to attend the tour. Please register your interest before Monday 30 September 2019. We will contact you when more details have been confirmed.
