ACTCOSS is proud to present this opportunity to learn more about the role of peak bodies and to empower our sector to engage with systemic advocacy in the ACT.

About this FREE training:

Peak bodies offer a strong voice and important functions in policy development, representation to decision makers, and capacity building to enable better functioning of community organisations.

This training hopes to build this understanding of our role as peak bodies in the broader community sector but also empower and equip our sector colleagues to engage with systemic advocacy in the ACT.

This initial version of the training will cover:

1 - The role of peak bodies & key guiding documents

2 - The ACT Government budget cycle

3 - Good practice around written advocacy

4 - Finding information to support your advocacy goals

Who should attend:

We welcome community sector workers and volunteers who work regularly with peak bodies as well as anyone with little to no knowledge of the role a peak body plays in our sector along to this session.

This session will be delivered face to face as it is the first time we are running this workshop. Let us know at [email protected] if you are interested in attending in a different format (eg. online), or at another time in the future.

Please email [email protected] for more information.
