ACTCOSS has developed this submission following dialogue with the Community Services Directorate, the Joint Pathways Network and the ACT community sector.
ACTCOSS acknowledges the reason for funding cuts to the housing and homelessness sector is a result of Commonwealth Government funding reduction. ACTCOSS does not believe there has been sufficient consideration across the whole of the ACT Government of the negative impacts of funding cuts on people who access the relevant programs.
There is further work the ACT Government and community sector can do together to enhance investment in these programs and the capacity of the service system.
