  • Build Collective Value and Strong Collaborative Networks
  • Attractive Package – Canberra Based

The ACT Council of Social Service Inc (ACTCOSS) leads the vision for Canberra to be a just, safe and sustainable community in which everyone has the opportunity for self-determination and a fair share of resources and services.  Representing not-for-profit community organisations, ACTCOSS advocates for social justice in the ACT, working collaboratively with organisations and individuals who together support the vision and goals for positive social change.

This is your opportunity to lead this pivotal community centred organisation, that has key ambitions to reduce inequality through well considered social and economic policy, with an agenda that reaches beyond the election cycle and recognises and brings together the collective value of the not for profit sector through strong and active collaboration. This includes representing and advocating on behalf of a diverse membership group to government, industry and other key sector representatives.

You will work across the community sector and the broader ACT Community to bring together a common advocacy agenda in relation to social justice whilst assisting and supporting organisations to build their capacity so that they can provide a service that best meets the needs of people experiencing disadvantage.

To be successful in this role you will be known for your commitment to social justice and have strong values aligned to the mission and purpose of ACTCOSS, with the gravitas and communication skills to build effective partnerships across the sector and broader community. Leading a valued team you will have the proven capacity and experience to deliver against key objectives as well as achieving operational excellence through demonstrated strategic leadership including financial and business stewardship.
