Beryl Women Inc. is seeking an experienced Aboriginal woman for the role of Executive Assistant The Executive Assistant (EA) role is a designated Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position to maximise positive outcomes through the Our Booris Our Way Steering Committee as well as We Don’t Shoot Our WounDeD and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Forum on Domestic and Family Violence. The role has a particular focus on facilitating the smooth integration of the CEO involvement in those external partnerships, with both government and non-government agencies, both formal and informal, addressing recommendations from the Reports. The EA has a pivotal communication role by making sure processes and activities expected by the CEO are carried out in a timely manner. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality, flexibility and efficiency while working under pressure.

Beryl Women Inc. provides specialist crisis and transitional housing, strength-based case management support and advocacy to women and their children escaping domestic violence. The service provides a professional, accountable, trauma-informed specialist domestic violence service that is based in the principles of intersectional feminism, social justice and reconciliation and recognises and fosters cultural diversity.

This service has a particular commitment to reconciliation and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in a sensitive way, both through service provision to clients and workplace practices for staff.
