Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is a non-government, not-for-profit specialist domestic and family violence service that seeks to reduce violence and abuse in relationships. DVCS provides crisis and long-term support services to help break the domestic and family violence cycle. DVCS is here to support people, both during and after crisis situations as well as support programs for those who use violence, with the aim of bringing about change.
Service Provision: In a co-operative team environment and in line with DVCS Vision and Objectives and in accordance with Policies and Procedures of the Team Leader – Crisis Intervention will be primarily responsible for:
- network with services and agencies to build and foster relationships with key stakeholders across the service system;
- ensure accuracy of client records and prepare reports as required;
- work within a team environment and be available to work outside of normal business hours on negotiation;
- Engage in support/reflection, supervision, performance appraisal and debriefing processes with the CI team;
- Supervise and maintain an overview of client work and work practices and ensure the Director – Client Services is informed and updated of relevant service issues;
- Promote the public profile of DVCS and the needs of those affected by domestic violence through education, training, and the facilitation of workshops Undertake on a rotational basis as directed;
- Undertake administration/operation tasks relevant to the Crisis Intervention team, including but not limited to funding reports;
- Engage in continual service review to enhance our service offering and performance;
- Provide training and support to new staff; and
- Other duties as required.
All applicants must meet and address the following Selection Criteria in writing.
- Tertiary or other relevant training in social/ human services or other areas of relevance. Demonstrated experience in direct client case management or crisis intervention or pursuing relevant qualifications currently;
- Knowledge and demonstrated practical application of a highly developed understanding of domestic, family violence and its impacts on individuals and communities;
- Demonstrated experience in working in crisis and referral work, including crisis telephone work;
- Highly developed understanding of safety planning and the ability to risk asses to inform decision making in a crisis response;
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to problem solve and ensure positive outcomes for clients;
- Demonstrated delivery of effective support and leadership of a diverse and highly skilled multidisciplinary team;
- A commitment to cultivating a team who works collaboratively with the capacity to be reflective in the pursuit of service delivery excellence;
- Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours on negotiation;
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card;
- Current driver’s licence.
Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the SCHCADS Award level 8.1 to 8.3 plus super and salary packaging commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
